Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Deputy Manager – Procurement plays a crucial role in managing the procurement process for raw materials, trims, packaging, and finished goods for fashion retail operations. The position supports seasonal buying and merchandising plans by ensuring timely sourcing, cost optimization, and efficient vendor management aligned with business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure materials (raw, trims, packaging, finished goods) as per seasonal calendars
  • Develop and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms to achieve cost savings
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any procurement-related issues
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (merchandising, production, finance)
  • Analyze market trends to identify sourcing opportunities
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure ERP system integrity
     

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • In-depth understanding of fashion retail supply chain and procurement cycles
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation abilities
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • High attention to detail and organizational capabilities
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Management, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of procurement experience, preferably in the fashion or retail industry
  • Postgraduate diploma or certification in supply chain or procurement (preferred)
