Job Overview:
The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting the Store Officer in all daily warehouse operations. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring the efficient receipt and dispatch of goods, and upholding the organization and safety of the store facility. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, detail-oriented, and have specific experience within a spinning mill environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Officer in all store-related activities and operations.
  • Receive, unload, and meticulously inspect incoming deliveries for damage or discrepancies against orders.
  • Accurately record and track all inventory transactions and stock levels in the system.
  • Organize, label, and store all inventory in a systematic and accessible manner, adhering to the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method.
  • Coordinate the movement of goods in and out of the store to support production and shipping schedules.
  • Maintain detailed logs and generate regular reports on inventory status, stock movements, and issued requisitions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase requisitions when stock reaches minimum order points; halt requests when maximum levels are achieved.
  • Ensure the store area is kept clean, orderly, and safe in compliance with company policies and health & safety regulations.
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, moving, and stacking items, and operate warehouse equipment such as hand lifts as required.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Intermediate / High School Diploma equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a store or inventory management role, specifically within a Spinning Mill.
  • Proven experience with inventory management practices (e.g., FIFO).
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., hand lift) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and generating reports.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
