Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Imports to lead our import operations function. The ideal candidate will ensure timely supply chain execution, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective external stakeholder coordination. This role is critical to supporting production continuity and achieving business objectives through strategic import management and team leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Supervise end-to-end import operations to ensure smooth material flow and uninterrupted support to production and business requirements.
  • Cost Management: Oversee clearance, logistics, and delivery processes with a focus on cost efficiency and meeting targeted landed cost factors.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Develop and manage annual contracts with clearing agents, ports, and service partners to secure favorable commercial terms.
  • Planning & Budgeting: Prepare departmental budgets, annual business plans, and activity plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strategic Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies for dry port operations and evaluate cost structures for port authority and clearing agent agreements.
  • Process Improvement: Lead cost-down initiatives and process enhancement projects to drive measurable efficiency gains.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain strong relationships with transporters, clearing agents, shipping lines, and government bodies (PEMA, FBR, NTC) to ensure compliance and operational alignment.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: MBA / BBA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of relevant experience in import operations, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

 

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and import/export compliance
  • Analytical mindset with experience in budgeting and strategic planning
  • Proven track record in cost optimization and process improvement
