Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lab Technician to support our Quality Control laboratory operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting essential chemical and physical analyses of crude oil and refined products, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to strict industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Analysis & Testing:
- Perform precise chemical and physical analyses on crude oil and refined petroleum products using standard test methods and advanced laboratory techniques.
- Conduct sampling and collection from various sources, ensuring representative samples and proper handling.
- Monitor testing processes meticulously, recording all observations and results in accordance with quality procedures.
Equipment Maintenance & Calibration:
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments (e.g., centrifuges, viscometers, distillation apparatus) to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure all equipment and the laboratory environment are kept clean, organized, and in safe working condition.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Accurately document all test results and procedures in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or log sheets.
- Collaborate with senior chemists to prepare reports and maintain comprehensive quality control records.
- Assist in data entry and the management of laboratory documentation.
Inventory & Compliance:
- Support inventory management for laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineer) in Chemical Technology or a closely related field.
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.
- Experience within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or a related industrial sector is highly preferred.

- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of basic laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in sampling, testing, and data documentation.
