Job Summary

SPEC is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating complex engineering deliverables across multiple disciplines, leading critical design and safety reviews, and ensuring project execution aligns with technical standards, cost objectives, and schedule commitments. This role requires a proactive professional with substantial EPC/EPCC project experience and a strong commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Coordination: Coordinate interdisciplinary engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, plot plans, datasheets, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Design & Safety Leadership: Lead key design reviews (30%, 60%, 90%), as well as HAZOP and SIL sessions to ensure project safety and integrity.
• Procurement & Vendor Management: Prepare Material Requisitions (MRs), conduct Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and review vendor documents to ensure quality and compliance.
• Construction Support: Interface with construction teams to issue Issued for Construction (IFC) packages and resolve technical issues arising on site.
• Project Controls: Manage project cost, schedule, and risk using Primavera P6, providing regular earned-value updates.
• Standards & Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant international standards (API, ASME, IEC, NFPA) and local regulations.
• HSE & Team Development: Actively support Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
• Experience: 5–10 years of hands-on experience in EPC/EPCC projects, with exposure to projects valued around USD 100 million.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Proven experience in engineering coordination and site execution.
  • Proficiency in project management and design software such as Primavera P6, AutoCAD, SmartPlant, AVEVA E3D, and MS Project.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel or be assigned to remote project sites as required.
