Job Description
1. Job Purpose
The Store Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the company's inventory and store operations. This role ensures the accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, maintaining optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted production processes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who upholds the company's core values through meticulous organization and a commitment to operational excellence.
2. Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions using the company's system.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with system records.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure the availability of necessary materials while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
- Implement and maintain an effective store layout for easy identification and retrieval of materials.
Material Handling:
- Oversee the receipt of all incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Manage the issuance of raw materials, spare parts, and other items to production and other departments against authorized requisitions.
- Ensure proper storage conditions to preserve the quality and integrity of all materials.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Identify and implement improvements in storekeeping and inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure all store activities comply with company policies and safety regulations.
- Prepare and analyze store-related reports, such as stock status, slow-moving items, and inventory valuation.
Teamwork & Coordination:
- Coordinate closely with the Procurement, Production, and Finance departments to ensure a smooth supply chain flow.
- Lead and supervise store assistants and helpers, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a storekeeping or inventory management role, preferably within a manufacturing or textile environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
